In the Extraction approach, GPT was instructed to extract useful information to maintain the original tone and perspective. In the First-Person approach, a simple prompt was used to summarize the post in a first-person perspective, emphasizing what the "I" or "We" need from the reader. Finally, in the Question approach, the post was summarized into a question, also using a first-person perspective and highlighting what the "I" or "We" need from the reader.
The results showed that the First-Person approach performed best, as it maintained the authenticity of the content while still providing a concise summary. The use of active voice and short words helped to make the summary feel natural and genuine. Overall, the experiment demonstrated the effectiveness of using a first-person perspective in summarizing posts on Nextdoor, while still maintaining the original tone and preserving the authenticity of the content.
